Bertani Untuk Negeri for Edufarmers
This series is part of the documentation of “Bertani Untuk Negeri” (Farming for the Nation) internship program for active students of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or Plantation study programs from all universities in Indonesia, the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and the Edufarmers Foundation. Since its start in 2020, this program has become a crucible for practical experience and hands-on learning, nurturing the future stewards of Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
With the theme “Ada Untuk Petani” (There for Farmers), this program also seeks to have a tangible impact on small-scale farmers throughout Indonesia. The program’s reach has stretched across seven diverse provinces, drawing in 1,137 enthusiastic young participants, and has forged connections with 3,634 farmers, embarking on a shared journey to elevate Indonesian agriculture. They have cultivated various agricultural commodities, from chilies to corn, from the rich flavors of cocoa and coffee to the humble yet vital production of layer chickens and broilers.
