Seven years ago, Johni Budiana embarked on a new chapter of his life, embracing a rhythm of service to the community as the Chairman of the Neighborhood Association. His decision to make this change came as age limits constrained his banking career, leaving him yearning for a deeper purpose.
Johni’s dedication extends beyond his role in the Neighborhood Association; he is an active member of Pencerah Nusantara – Puskesmas Responsif Inklusif Masyarakat Aktif Bermakna (PN-Prima) and serves as an Activator of Integrated Health Services. He also took on the mantle of a COVID-19 Task Force member when the pandemic began infecting Bandung residents in mid-March 2020.

His family sometimes perceives him as distant, but his actions speak volumes about his affection and commitment to his community. I immersed myself in Johni’s family and the village he serves, aiming to shed light on the vital role of a health cadre within the community and explore how a cadre like Johni navigates the delicate balance between serving the community and fulfilling his family responsibilities.

I revealing the intrinsic connection between personal transformation, community engagement, and the unwavering spirit of individuals who dedicate their lives to making a difference in the lives of others. This is a testament to the resilience and devotion of community leaders like Johni, who inspire us to redefine our paths and find meaning in service to others.
